How Will Kratom Make You Feel?

Kratom Powder & Capsule

Low-dose kratom use has effects comparable to those of a moderate stimulant. But, how will Kratom make you feel?

Low-dose kratom use has effects comparable to those of a moderate stimulant. After taking this herbal supplement, many people feel a surge of energy, concentration, mental clarity, and a heightened feeling of sociability. In terms of energy, it’s comparable to the buzz you get from coffee. Increasing the dosage may have additional sedative effects. A user’s mood and energy levels may seem moderately flat after only one usage.

Mitragynine as well as 7-hydroxymitragynine are the primary active alkaloids involved for the bulk of the physiologic alterations that occur after intake.

The anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting properties of kratom were investigated in a 2017 research. Kratom users often report feeling relief from chronic pain and discomfort. It’s normal for individuals to turn to opioids and other pain relievers available without a doctor’s prescription.

Thus, kratom may provide a more organic approach to coping with or controlling the inflammation and pain. While more rigorous research is needed to assist put kratom on the market at large, anecdotal evidence is mounting.

Injections of HCG have helped many patients with fibromyalgia and other chronic pain conditions. There is some evidence that kratom may relieve pain in a similar way.

3 Health Benefits of Kratom

Get to know multiple possible health advantages of kratom! What are the 3 health benefits of Kratom?

Multiple possible health advantages of kratom have been uncovered via scientific investigation:

Stimulating Your Libido

Researchers are looking at whether or not Kratom might work as a sexual enhancement aid. The aphrodisiac properties of kratom were the subject of a systematic review and report by researchers. It was determined that kratom is an efficient plant-based sexual enhancer.

Soothing Effects

There are three varieties of Kratom, and they all work well to alleviate persistent pain. All three types, white vein, green vein, as well as red vein, block pain by binding to opioid receptors. 7-hydroxymitragynine, a component of kratom, is 13 times more powerful than morphine.

Although kratom, like codeine and morphine binds to opioid receptors, it is classified as an atypical opioid because of this. The selective inactivation of some signals by kratom may account for its comparatively milder side effects when compared to traditional opioids.

Mood-Boosting

The mood-boosting benefits of kratom are many. There is evidence that kratom may help those who are addicted to opioids. Evidence suggests it may reduce the discomfort associated with kicking morphine or alcohol.

It has been shown in other research that kratom may be useful as an antidepressant as well as a hunger suppressor. Kratom has been shown to reduce corticosterone levels in mice, according to one study. High levels of the stress hormone corticosterone are linked to emotional instability.

Kratom supplementation reduced food intake in another rat research by blocking activity in the hypothalamus, the region of the brain that controls hunger and food desires. More studies are required to determine whether kratom has the same effects in people.

How to Make Kratom Tea (Kratom Tea Recipe)

Kratom And Alcohol

Although there are many ways to using Kratom, one of the most effective and popular is Kratom tea. Consuming Kratom in tea form offers different advantages and disadvantages in comparison to other preparations such as in resin form or fresh leaves.

Aside from chewing the actual leaves, Kratom tea is one of the most common means of preparing Kratom in Southeast Asia.

There are different pros and cons of using tea, including various recipes that makes drinking Kratom more enjoyable.

How to Make Kratom Tea

Taking Kratom leaves in the form of tea has become one of the most desired and common ways because, aside from tasting better, the kratom retains its medicinal properties without being toxic or acidic.

Different Ways of Making Kratom Tea

The process of making Kratom tea is straightforward and can be done by any novice. The traditional way of making Kratom tea was to put the desired dosage and just allow the leaves steep in boiling water for about 20 minutes. The leaves are then strained, and the residual water is taken as a tea.

On the other hand, the modern way of preparing the tea is to mix the Kratom powder and water in a pot. Allow it to steep on a simmering water for about 10 to 12 minutes. After that, the mixture is strained, and the remaining water is drunk.

The manner of preparing Kratom tea still boils down to personal preferences. Some people love to steep it longer for an incredibly strong tea while others prefer a mild taste. Be mindful of the color of the tea – the darker it becomes, the more intense the flavor.

Step-By-Step Instructions for Making Kratom Tea

Below is a simple and easy guide to making your own Kratom tea.

You will need:

Kettle
Strainer or cheesecloth
Kratom powder
Water

Procedure:

In a standard kettle, bring 1 ½ cup of water to a soft boil.
Put pre-measured Kratom powder directly to a simmering water.
Lower the heat and allow the Kratom mixture to simmer for 10 minutes.
Be sure to check the tea’s color. While it turns to yellow or deep orange color, remove the kettle from heat.
Place a strainer or cheesecloth over a mug and pour the liquid.
Discard the residue collected by the filter. Or, you can still save it for future use.

To conceal the bitter taste, you can flavor the tea with sugar, honey, stevia or cinnamon. Cold tea? Place it in the fridge or pour drink over ice. To protect the alkaloids of Kratom, slice a lime or lemon in half and add it to the water before heating. The lemon’s acidity will prevent the destruction of alkaloids during the heating process. It also adds citrusy flavor to your tea.

Sip the tea slowly and enjoy it. It usually takes 30 minutes before you’ll notice the effect. This tea recipe is only the basic one, but once you have mastered it, you can experiment and apply your techniques for brewing the perfect tea.

Are There Any Downsides to Using Kratom Tea?

Yes. There are a few drawbacks to using Kratom tea. The common problem is that brewing it longer than two minutes can make the tea acidic and bitter, making it difficult for users to swallow. Besides, some Kratom strains are naturally bitter, making the result bitter. You can avoid this by using a strain that is generally less bitter or has a sweeter taste.

Another downside is the slightly diminished sedating effect of Kratom powder. This is somewhat common in tea form as compared to powder form. But despite these common minor problems, consumption of Kratom in tea form continues to be beneficial and effective, not to mention cost-effective and practical for most people.

Kratom tea tends to be much cheaper than buying Kratom extract in powdered form. Additionally, the ease of use and preparation is another advantage since almost anyone can prepare it.

Kratom Tea Dosage

The amount of Kratom powder you’ll add to make a tea depends on the effect you desired, your body weights, metabolism and tolerance. However, for first-timers, it is essential to be cautious.

The following are the suggested quantities of Kratom powder for making tea and the effects:

Threshold (effect is subtle yet apparent) – 2 – 3 grams
Mild (effect is stimulant-like) – 3 – 4 grams
Moderate (effect can be sedative/analgesic or stimulant-like) – 4 – 5 grams
Strong (Sedative/Analgesic/Euphoric effect) – 6 – 10 grams

THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO KRATOM

THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO KRATOM

Mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine

OVERVIEW

Kratom is the common name for Mitragyna speciosa, a tropical evergreen native to the marshy jungles of Southeast Asia. It grows wild in central and southern Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar, and elsewhere in the Pacific Rim.

Known for its hanging clusters of deep yellow flowers and reaching up to 42 feet (13 meters) in height, kratom has numerous uses in folk medicine. Traditionally, the broad green leaves are plucked by hand and dried in the sun, to be brewed as a tea or pulverized and swallowed with water.

Since the beginning of the 21st century, kratom has increased in visibility around the world. Regular kratom users see it as an invaluable aid for mental and physical health, while others enjoy its dual recreational value as a stimulant or sedative-narcotic (depending on the dose).

EFFECTS

Kratom dosage

How much kratom to take depends on your physiology, tolerance, and other factors. Chances are that as a newbie your tolerance is nil, but there may be a cross-tolerance effect with other opioids.

In any case, the recommended starting dose is one to two grams. If you’re sensitive, you’re probably better off starting with one gram. Ideally, you should measure out your dose on a digital scale. Capsules tend to contain between 350 and 750 mg, so you may need one to three for a starting dose.

The three main ways to take kratom powder (dried ground leaf) are:

Swallowing with a drink (aka “toss and wash,” i.e. tossing it into the mouth and washing it down with a non-carbonated drink—ideally fruit juice or chocolate milk to cover the taste)
In capsules
In tea (recipe here)

The dosage guide on the kratom Reddit wiki suggests waiting 30-45 minutes after your first dose to see how it affects you. Then, if you feel you need more, take up to one more gram. After waiting another 30-45 minutes, take up to one more final gram if desired. And if this dose still fails to satisfy, start with three grams another day and repeat the process from there; don’t take any more on day one. And don’t take more than eight grams on any one day.
You should find your optimal dose pretty soon.

Generally speaking, a moderate dose of plain dried leaf (powdered) is 3-6 g, but anything above 5 g is considered strong. Kratom is usually consumed with fruit juice or water. A popular method is the “toss and wash,” which involves placing the powder in the mouth and chasing it down with a drink.

What to expect

On an empty stomach, kratom effects are noticeable from around the 15-20 minute mark, gradually building in intensity and peaking for two to four hours. Stronger doses may have a shorter onset.

Lower doses are often more stimulating. They may be characterized by increased motivation, talkativeness, and sociability, along with a feeling of euphoria and physical energy. Some people find the stimulant effects of kratom a little too “edgy” to be pleasant, at least at first. Other disagreeable kratom effects—including sweating, nausea, dizziness, and dysphoria—can also be experienced during the onset period, but they usually give way in time.

At the higher, sedative dose ranges, kratom users report a diminished sensitivity to physical and emotional pain, and a feeling of general contentedness. Some go into a kind of “waking-dreaming” reverie, especially when listening to music. Ethnobotanist and author Daniel Siebert likened this to the state prized by 19th-century Romantics, who used opium to keep one foot in dreamland and the other in the real world.

Additional kratom effects might include mild visuals (both open- and closed-eye), a warming sensation, increased empathy, and possibly sexual arousal. The pupils are likely to constrict if they change size at all.

Many find that sex on kratom lasts longer, but that it can also feel impossible to climax. Erectile enhancement is common, but so is erectile dysfunction. Frequent use and higher doses can substantially diminish libido—sometimes completely. But many seem to enjoy combining sex and kratom; some men take it to increase the enjoyment of their partner even if it means sacrificing their own.

Kratom and Suboxone

Combining kratom and Suboxone (buprenorphine and naloxone, a common opiate replacement therapy) may seem unavoidable if you’re trying the former to give up the latter. Although it’s not ideal, a careful balance of titration and dose timing can apparently be effective. For more information, see the kratom Reddit group.

Kratom and Adderall

Kratom is reportedly a good alternative to Adderall for managing ADD/ADHD. Some also find it helps to relieve an Adderall comedown. While it’s generally unsafe to combine kratom and stimulants, there appear (anecdotally) to be few if any negative kratom side effects with Adderall in particular. However, it may be best to stagger your intake of each, for example by taking kratom several hours after Adderall.

Kratom and weed

Many people combine kratom and weed for enhanced relaxation effects. The differing pharmacological actions of these substances is said to be positively synergistic. As with other substances, however, you might want to stagger your intake. One recommendation is to eat some food in between taking kratom and cannabis to avoid feeling faint or lightheaded.

PERSONAL GROWTH

Most users take kratom for pain, anxiety, or some other specific condition, but it’s also considered a “plant teacher”—a tool for exploration and growth. Described by one kratom user as a “nurturing mirror,” it can gently draw attention to areas of personal and interpersonal dysfunction. These can be explored within the context of an emotionally honest, “entactogenic” high.

Some kratom users report that kratom can reduce social anxiety, and even improve sexual performance.

Liberated from the confines of everyday thought patterns, people also find greater appreciation for being alive.

THERAPEUTIC USE

There are no mainstream medical uses for kratom, but it shows great therapeutic potential.

Daniel Siebert described it as one of the most effective herbal analgesics, second only to opium. 7-hydroxymitragynine in particular is 13 times more potent than morphine and considerably less addictive. Withdrawal symptoms from kratom are also far milder and more short-lived. Mitragynine, meanwhile, is seen as a potential replacement for codeine, offering comparable analgesic effects without the fatal respiratory depression. Curiously, synthetic mitragynine is less potent than extracted mitragynine.

Kratom for opiate withdrawal and pain management

Kratom could eventually come to replace methadone in the treatment of heroin addiction especially given its relative ease of production, making it ideal for poor and developing countries. Certainly the use of kratom for heroin withdrawal has become common around the world. It can also be helpful for getting off prescription opioids.

Kratom for alcohol cravings

It could be a viable alternative to alcohol too, since it promotes relaxation and sociability without the emotional/physical hangover.

Kratom therapy for depression and anxiety

At least one study supports the growing use of kratom to manage anxiety and depression. Mice injected with mitragynine were found to have lower levels of corticosterone, a hormone involved in the regulation of stress responses and energy. The open, introspective mindset that kratom creates may also be useful in psychotherapy.

Opinions on the best strains vary. One of the best strains of kratom for depression is reportedly white Maeng Da. Green strains are also supposed to be good. Green and white strains are reportedly the best kratom for anxiety too.

Kratom weight loss

Many people lose weight while using kratom. However, it’s not necessarily an appetite suppressant in itself; some find it makes them eat more. Weight loss may instead be attributed to its anxiolytic or antidepressant effects eliminating cravings for junk food. It also promotes healthy lifestyle changes that lead to weight loss, such as getting more exercise and drinking less alcohol.

Other therapeutic uses

Other conditions that kratom shows potential for include diarrhea, chronic pain, inflammation, arthritis, migraines, and even cancer.

HISTORY & STATS

It’s not clear when kratom use began, but the practice is thought to be ancient. In its native growing regions, leaves from the plant may be used to numb aches and pains, soothe fevers, treat diarrhea, manage diabetes, and alleviate addiction. They have also been applied as poultices to wounds or spread across the abdomen to drive out worms.

Perhaps the most popular use has been to chew on the leaves for energy—similar to the way coca is used in the Andes. In Thailand, peasant workers have been known to chew up to ten times a day while working outside in the sun.

From at least as far back as the early 19^th century in Malaysia, kratom has also been used as a sedative—especially as a replacement for opium.

Amid growing enthusiasm for kratom’s medical potential, the active constituent mitragynine was isolated in 1921 and tested on humans in 1932. It was likened to cocaine for its stimulant effects on the central nervous system.

By the early 1940s, the government of Thailand was seeing a massive decline in opium tax revenue. Evidently, addicts were turning to kratom—an unregulated drug—to manage their withdrawal symptoms. The Kratom Act was passed in August 1943, forbidding anyone from cultivating the plant and ordering all existing specimens destroyed.

Elsewhere, scientific interest prevailed. More than 20 alkaloids were isolated during the 1960s and, in 1994, the second of kratom’s primary active compounds was identified: 7-hydroxymitragynine. The following year saw the first synthesis of mitragynine.

Public awareness of kratom flourished throughout the early 2000s, mainly via online message boards. In 2005, however, both M. speciosa and mitragynine were scheduled in Australia, banning them for sale or possession without a license. Enforcement of the Kratom Act also ramped up in Thailand, where arrests quintupled between 2005 and 2009. In 2012, when Thai police ordered the destruction of hundreds of wild kratom trees in a protected area of forest in Satun Province, locals resisted their attempts.

In the United States, various advocacy and campaign groups, including the American Kratom Association, Botanical Education Alliance, and United Kratom Association, have sprung up to safeguard kratom’s legality. Thanks to efforts like theirs, the DEA was forced to withdraw an August 2016 “notice of intent” to place kratom into Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act.

Kratom and Alcohol: Is It Safe to Mix Them?

Kratom And Alcohol

When trying out an herbal supplement, it is very important to learn about it, its contraindications, drug interactions and more. You don’t want to use a natural remedy only to find out that you cannot use it after having some few drinks and then suffer an adverse reaction.

If you are new to Kratom, below is a guideline about the do’s and don’ts when it comes to alcohol consumption and Kratom use.

Mixing Kratom and Alcohol

Due to the popularity of Kratom for recreational purposes, many users are wondering if they can mix it with other substances to augment its effect. One of the substances that piqued the curiosity of many is alcohol.

The trend to mix Kratom with alcohol has started a heated discussion within the Kratom circle, whether it is beneficial or not. But no one is entirely sure of its safety. Many people who are using Kratom for alcohol withdrawal reported that they use Kratom along with alcohol. They told that over time, the desire to drink lessened to a significant level.

Even for social drinkers, taking Kratom before a drinking contest make them drink less, thereby cutting calories, saving money and even prevent premature aging and other diseases associated with alcohol. But still, caution should be taken when combining these two substances for the reasons that:

Alcohol is a known CNS depressant
Kratom can be sedating or stimulating

It is dangerous to mix alcohol with opioid drugs such as hydrocodone that has potent sedative property. However, there’s no evidence that Kratom can cause serious complication when combined with alcohol.

Since Kratom is still relatively new, there’s no solid research or information can be found about it. The only information that explains such combination is the user experiences in various forums, which provides experience-based detail on the safety of combining alcohol and Kratom.

Kratom and Alcohol – User Experiences

The online user reviews have mixed reactions to this topic because the effects greatly vary from one person to another. Some users blame alcohol while others point the damaging effects to Kratom. Several official forums have declared this combination to be health-damaging and risky.

Also, there’s no fixed recipe to combine two substances in an effective yet safe proportion. This inconsistency on the dosage resulted in varying views, with some users endorsing it while others don’t.

Kratom-Alcohol Mixture at Low Dose

Based on user experiences that we gathered, using low dose on these ingredients can provide stimulating, mood elevating and mild effects. When using Kratom, the alcohol may provide a more profound, relaxing effect on the person. The alcohol seems to potentiate Kratom’s mood-lifting impact without causing any adverse effects. This can cause a person to feel deeper and stronger. Generally, it is a relaxed feeling.

No harmful effects were reported but, once again, it’s not a good idea to use this mixture, particularly when you need to drive or operate machinery.

Kratom-Alcohol Mixture at Moderate Dose

Combining both ingredients in moderate dose may have two kinds of effects – it can either be positive or be awful. The possible side effects include vomiting, dizziness, nausea, stomach ache, lethargy and more.

Some Kratom strains are quite potent and work similar to alcohol. Both can have unpleasant and discomforting effects. However, a user shared his experience with a moderate dose of this mixture, telling he didn’t experience any severe side effects.

One of the most commonly reported side effects with moderate dose is nausea, although lethargy may also play a role. Sedating strains of Kratom (e.g. most red vein Kratom) tend to cause these effects.

Kratom-Alcohol Mixture at High Dose

Two similarly potent ingredients in high dosage can provide nothing but harmful effects. When high amounts of alcohol are taken whether before or after using Kratom, a person may experience feelings of nausea, faint, headaches, and spinning. Such effects are much like overdosing, which can be very uncomfortable.

When a person goes to sleep, he wakes up with a stronger than the usual hangover. This is due to the mix of the substances. It is very rare to find a positive experience from a user who took both at high doses.

Most Kratom users on Reddit discussed the dangers of this combination at a high dose. Hence, we strongly advise against it.

What are the Dangers of Mixing Alcohol and Kratom?

While there’s insufficient conclusive evidence regarding the dangers of mixing these two equally strong substances, checking out their properties individually offers useful information on the possible risks.

Since alcohol is a depressant, it means it blocks the function of the central nervous system by blocking the signals or messages from the nerve receptors to the brain. This affects a person’s senses, movements, and perceptions. On the other hand, Kratom is both a stimulant and a sedative. Hence, combining a depressant with a tranquilizer or a stimulant can be risky.

Even moderate consumption of alcohol, which is one drink per day for women up to 2 drinks per day for men (based on Dietary Guidelines for Americans), in combination with Kratom can significantly intensify its effect. This leads in deeper, much longer-lasting results. The result may seem like a good thing for you but in reality, the combination may be dangerous.

Alcohol and Kratom can impair your coordination and motor skills. Those drinking alcohol right after using Kratom find out that it hugely dulls the effects of Kratom, which leads to nausea and headaches. Combining the two can lead to a Kratom-alcohol hangover.

Overall, many users told to consume only a small amount of alcohol rather than overdoing it. This is to ensure safety when using both products at the same time.

What are the Potential Side Effects of Combining Kratom and Alcohol?

The adverse effects resulting from the use of Kratom and alcohol together are:

Irregular sleep cycle
Stress
Dehydration
Dizziness
Lethargy
Extreme discomfort
Nausea
Fatigue
Body weakness
Stomach discomfort
Respiratory problem
Dehydration

The side effects are not the same for all users. In fact, there’s no research to determine the damages or symptoms because of the following reasons:

There’s no solid research or trial on alcohol and Kratom as a mixture.
Kratom comes in a variety of strains, which ranges from mild to strong. Each one can create mild to severe side effects.
There are so many different kinds of alcohol, each having different potency or alcohol content.
Choosing a strain of Kratom and the type of alcoholic beverage is a personal thing. Some users may prefer beer while others don’t. But generally, taking the low dosage may not lead to alarming side effects that need a doctor’s visit. On the one hand, high dosage can cause negative effects.

Using Kratom for Alcohol Withdrawal

The Internet is filled with personal accounts regarding Kratom. But there are only a few reliable accounts of how it can help curb or quit alcohol drinking.

Kratom can help stimulate the brain’s opioid receptors that crave endorphins released when consuming alcohol. Such a mechanism makes Kratom effective in managing the discomfort associated with alcohol withdrawal and curbs the cravings.

Because other brain chemicals such as GABA are associated with alcohol withdrawal, using Kratom can be beneficial for those with mild to moderate alcohol dependence. However, this herb may not be sufficient for those with severe alcoholism.

Those experiencing severe alcohol withdrawal may need anti-convulsant medications to present seizures that may be caused by low GABA levels. Having said, let me explain the connection between alcohol dependence, opioid receptors and the role of Kratom in managing alcohol withdrawal.

Alcohol can affect many neurotransmitters. It imitates the function of GABA while increasing endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine. Among these neurotransmitters, endorphin is considered as the natural opiate of the brain, and scientists are speculating that alcoholic individuals break down alcohol differently by turning alcohol into an opiate called THQ – a compound that is believed to be many times more powerful than morphine.

Despite this false hypothesis on THQ, the brain still releases endorphins to respond to alcohol. Besides, it is clear that alcohol dependents are hooked to this endorphin release.

Based on these studies, it is certain the alcohol dependents are addicted but the chemicals produced by the brain when consuming alcohol. Those who slowly transition from liquor to Kratom often avoid the discomfort of alcohol withdrawal by stimulating endorphin release from Kratom rather than alcohol.

Because Kratom is less addictive than alcohol, many people find it much easier to stop Kratom. While other plants can curb alcohol cravings, Kratom tends to be one of the best herbs to use.

Final Thoughts

If you are thinking of trying Kratom with alcohol, we highly advise against it for safety reasons. But if you do choose to mix the two, be sure to try it at low doses because higher doses may cause unpredictable effects.

If you are an alcoholic and want to try Kratom to manage withdrawal symptoms, Kratom can be a useful herb to liberate yourself. Just make sure to start with very low doses to avoid any undesirable side effects.

What is Kratom Leaf and how does it affect the body?

Kratom Leaf

What is Kratom Leaf?

Kratom leaf is a tropical tree that belongs to the coffee family. Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is commonly found in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and other South Asian countries.

Kratom is commonly used as a stimulant and a sedative. This leaf is also said to treat chronic pain, digestive problems, and as an aid to eliminate opium addiction.

However, as written by Healthline. there are no clinical trials yet which can help to understand the benefits of kratom. In the US, kratom is usually marketed as an alternative medicine.

What is the content of Kratom leaves?

At low doses, kratom will work like a stimulant. People who have used low-dose kratom claim to be more energized, more alert, and easier to socialize.

At higher doses, kratom is used as a sedative, producing euphoric effects, accumulating emotions, and sensations.

The main active ingredients of kratom are the alkaloid mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. There is evidence that these alkaloids can have analgesic (pain-relieving) effects, anti-inflammatory, or muscle relaxation. For this reason, kratom is often used to relieve symptoms of fibromyalgia.

These leaves are usually dried and crushed or made into powder. In the United States, kratom is mostly brewed as tea to reduce pain and the effects of opioids.

“Secretly kratom could be an alternative drug … and our own qualitative studies of people using kratom show that, with a litle few harmful side effects, people have succeeded in using kratom to get out of opioid addiction and can effectively help Reduce their pain. “

Best Natural Foods and Supplements to Enhance Kratom Effects

Consumption of Kratom is as effective as it is. However, some users advice also consuming various foods or natural supplements to significantly affect Kratom potency. This process is called Potentiation. It is when two or more elements interact in a way that the pharmacological effect becomes greater than the responses of each agent put together.

In the case of Kratom, the agents that can help potentiate its effects are a variety of healthy, supplements such as artificial or synthetic herbs or other natural herbs. The mixture between either of these and Kratom enhances the effects or potency of the latter; thereby, ensuring to achieve the intended full benefits.

The Importance of Kratom Potentiation

Potentiation offers a couple of benefits in one’s Kratom consumption. One of these is that it can decrease the amount of Kratom intake to have a more potent effect. It also increases the duration of Kratom effects. Moreover, it also enables a much quicker time needed for Kratom effects to kick in, and it also lessens possible Kratom tolerance that may develop over time.

Best Foods to Enhance Kratom Potency

Consumption of natural foods to help potentiate the effects of Kratom is more encouraged as it “naturally” just helps increase Kratom capabilities without any harmful effects. Other drugs, as opposed to natural foods, might cause some damage to the liver due to Cytochrome P450 that these inhibits, which may disrupt the normal enzymatic reaction of liver inside the body.

It is the reason why taking natural foods should ALWAYS be preferred. The following are natural food products that can help increase Kratom potency:

Tea – Most users prefer consuming Kratom in a soluble, drinking form. Hence, many Kratom users mix it with tea as their choice of drink. The Chamomile or Green Tea are one of the best options as it can mask the bitterness of Kratom extract and can also enhance Kratom’s natural calming benefits.

Some users who mix Green Tea, Chamomile or passionflower with Red Vein Kratom strains also report of achieving a more pronounced calming effects from Kratom. Others also choose to mix White or Green Vein Kratom with Yerba Mate Tea to achieve the energizing effect.

Turmeric – Turmeric, which is the main ingredient in making a curry and is part the ginger family, is also proven to be an effective partner for Kratom. It can enhance the duration of effects from alkaloids found in Kratom.

Grapefruit – Most users prefer to consume Grapefruit juice after each Kratom intake. However, little they did know, the Grapefruit is also an effective agent to help potentiate Kratom by increasing the duration of its benefits, similar to Turmeric.

Watercress – Watercress is an aquatic botanical plant that is also proven to be an efficient agent in maximizing Kratom effects by its naturally formed minerals that can maintain synergy with Mitragynine.

Best Supplements to Enhance Kratom Potency

Aside from natural foods, a supplement can also significantly potentiate Kratom effects. Together, they form a formidable partnership that aims to highlight and enhance each other’s benefits. Among these supplements that are good for Kratom are the following:

Valerian Root – This particular portion of the perennial flowering plant is already said to be effective in curing insomnia, which is why its famous partnership with Kratom (also considered to promote better sleep) is rather understandable among users. Kratom and Valerian Root, together, develop a more soothing, relaxing effect and better sleep habits.

Caffeine – Kratom, the plant itself, is part of the coffee family. Hence, consumption of Kratom together with caffeine is proven beneficial for increased energy, alertness and focus.

Cat’s Claw – This woody vine found in South and Central America, which is scientifically known as Uncaria Tomentosa, also contains alkaloids that can synergize with the alkaloids found in Kratom that can increase the duration of its effects.

Other Drugs That Increases Kratom Potency

There are also drugs available that potentiate Kratom effects. Mostly, these drugs inhibit in the metabolism of Kratom in the digestive system, most especially the liver. However, it should be noted that these drugs could be dangerous as these mostly interact with the liver’s Microsomal Enzyme System – specifically the CYP2D6 and CYP3A4.

Its chemical relationship forged between the body’s digestive system can cause tolerance and may have adverse effects if the Kratom intake is of a higher dosage or beyond the recommended amount. Among these drugs are the following:

Acetaminophen – Increases the analgesic, pain-relieving effects of Kratom

Diphenhydramine – Enhances Kratom’s sedative effects

Tianeptine – Enhances the euphoric effects found in consuming Kratom

Agmatine – Also known as Guanidine, aids in Kratom’s ability to treat opiate addiction

As highly advised, it is best to steer away from these drugs when taking Kratom as there may be adverse effects and high risks associated with its usage. Licensed medical practitioners only prescribe these drugs; hence, it is not readily available to everyone and securing one without proper documents can lead to legal problems.

How to Consume Natural Foods, Supplements with Kratom Effectively

To consume any of the mentioned natural foods or supplements (drugs notwithstanding), one should carefully follow a proper timing. The ideal time, as suggested by many, is 45 minutes or more after each Kratom intake. However, this may vary with the potentiating agent of choice.

It is also highly encouraged to take a break in consuming Kratom to avoid overexposure, tolerance, and dependence. It is also discouraged to take these potentiators on a regular basis, as they may cause some harmful side effects if taken excessively.

It is important to remain vigilant and cautious of any effects felt after each consumption; and to adjust, limit intake accordingly to enjoy the benefits of Kratom, at its fullness continually.
